PetroChina <0857.HK> has won approval from the National Development and Reform Commission to double refining capacity at its Huabei plant to 200,000 barrels per day , the China Petroleum Daily reported on Friday.
The expansion is scheduled to be completed in October 2012 and the plant will be fully commissioned two months later, the newspaper report said.
Huabei would then be able to supply up to 8 million tonnes of high quality refined fuels and other petrochemical products each year to Beijing and Tianjin as well as to other north China regions, it said. .
