¡º PetroChina's oil processing plant in Guangxi starts operation ¡» [2010-9-3]

PetroChina Co<0857>, the country's largest oil producer, on Thursday said that its crude oil processing plant in Qinzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has started trial operation, sources reported.

The crude oil processing plant has a daily output capacity of 200,000 barrels.

Mao Zefeng, a PetroChina spokesman, said the time for commercial operation of the facility will depend on the results of the trial operation. He did not elaborate on it.

Qinzhou Crude Oil Processing Plant, PetroChina's first large-scale crude oil processing facility in Southwest China, which was scheduled to put into operation in June, is principally engaged in processing crude oil imported from Sudan.

China National Petroleum Corp, parent of PetroChina earlier had said that the plan would be capable of supplying 7 million tons of gasoline, diesel oil and jet oil to the southwest market per year.

Last month, PetroChina announced its crude oil storage in Qingzhou put into operation. Upon the completion of the first-phase construction, the storage has a capacity of 4.2 million cubic meters, or 26.4 million barrels.(Edited by EnergyChinaForum.com.
