The preparatory work of the National Petroleum Reserve Base Phase ¢ò Project has been finished, said Director of the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission Li Miaojuan in an interview on the sidelines of the ¡°Two Sessions¡±. She revealed that the base had been sited in Zhanjiang City and Huizhou City, and construction would start soon. ¡°Everything is going on as planned,¡± said she.
However, She didn¡¯t disclose the storage capacity of Zhanjiang and Huizhou strategic petroleum reserve bases, or engineering plans, schedules, etc.
Reportedly, China has developed three strategic oil reserve projects. Currently, the Phase¢ñProject has completed oiling, with a storage capacity of 16.4 million cubic meters or about 102 million barrels. Its four reserve bases are located in Zhenhai District of Zhoushan City in Zhejiang Province, Dalian City of Liaoning Province and Huangdao District of Shandong Province respectively. www.EnergyChinaForum.com The Phase ¢ò Project has been approved by the State council. It has a planned storage capacity of 26.8 million cubic meters or about 169 million barrels. It is to start construction this year.
