Rockwell Automation Inc, a global provider of industrial automation, power, control and information solutions, Wednesday announced that it has inked an agreement with Xi'an Hengsheng Science & Technology Co Ltd to take over the latter, sources reported.
Rockwell expects to further help its Chinese clients in energy saving and environmental protection to maintain sustainable economic growth through the acquisition, which is estimated to be completed in the first quarter of next year.
No detailed information about the acquisition has been disclosed.
Located in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Xi'an Hengsheng is engaged in providing service for nearly 300 customers in the fields like electricity, petrochemical and coal exploration, chemical and petroleum industry.
This acquisition in China is considered as an important step for Rockwell to expand in the global market after acquiring ProsCon and ICS Triplex in Europe and Caribbean Integration Engineers in Latin America, according to Tom O'Reilly, managing director of Rockwell in Greater China.
Rockwell has set up 5 training centers in China, with one software development center in Dalian, two OEM application development centers in Shenzhen and Shanghai and one R&D center and two plants in Shanghai.
