Of the total investment, 6.5 billion yuan is earmarked for the No.3 and No.4 generating units of Huaneng Haimen Power Plant and 1.1 billion yuan for the Haimen coal transshipping base project.

The coal transshipping base is expected to be capable of unloading 22 million tons of coal annually.

Apart from providing coal for Haimen power plant, the base will also serve as a coal transshipping center to satisfy the demand for coal in inland area of the eastern part of Guangdong province.
