Under the strong support from the Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Land and Resources, China Science & Technology Association, State Meteorological Administration, State Council of South-North Water Allocation Construction Office, State Bureau of Environmental Protection and China Yangtze Three Gorges Engineering Co., the China Water Resources Society has decided to organize the largest Water Expo in China -- ¡°Water Expo China 2007¡±, from Oct 31 - Nov. 3, 2007 in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China.
Since 1989, the Ministry of Water Resources has organized the Water Expo China for four consecutive years with great success. It has become a reputable event in the China water resources industry. The ¡°Water Expo China 2007¡± is an extension of the Water Expo China with special emphasis on the basic nature of water as a natural resource, the strategic nature of water as economic resources and its public nature as a social resource. Water is an indispensable resource for human survival and development. The Water Expo China 2007 will cover all the aspects in the water resources industry with modification on the organizational structure, with improvements on the content and integration of high quality standard in order to raise the level and scale of the Expo.
Water has become a hot issue for the Chinese government and the society. Following the continual advancement of the Chinese Government¡¯s advocation on the concept of ¡° Building a harmonious society with people as the foundation in all aspects for sustainable development¡±, it has become an important task for the Chinese government and the society to coordinate the allocation of water resources, to implement reform on water utilities management, and to build a water saving society. At the same time, the current water related administrative system reform and the water utilities operation management module reform would lead to a total new adjustment and integration in the water resources industry. The Water Expo China 2006 will promote the development and advancement of the water resources industry as well as assist in solving the water problems in China through product display, technological exchange and seminars.
The content of this Expo will cover the latest products and technologies in several categories including: City Water Consumption, Daily Water Usage, Sewage Treatment, Anti-flood and Disaster Minimization, Water and Earth Maintenance, and Hydro-Electricity. Furthermore, the Expo will organize a series of seminars and activities such as the briefing on the 11th Five-year Plan of the Water Resources Development Plan and the ¡°China Water Utilities Summit¡° forum, thus, to study the water problem awaiting to be solved due to the water reform and the development of the water resources market under the new environment. One of the great highlights for this Expo is the interactive connection between the conference and the exhibition, which enable the Expo to be a brand-new platform serving the Chinese water resources industry.
The Expo sponsored parties including the 52 professional committees of the China Water Resources Society, provincial water resources (water utilities) bureaus, domestic and overseas associations, will work closely with the organizer and the co-organizers. In addition, the China Water Expo Advisors Group, consisting of foreign and domestic water consultants, will be established to seek their valuable comments for the industry. It will definitely be a unique gathering for the China water resources industry in terms of information exchange, logistics, traffic and capital flow etc.
It is planned to organize the Water Expo China Exhibition on an annual basis with different theme to be based on the actual water problems in China for that year.
